Why the Price of Ripple (XRP) Could Go to Zero

Ripple (XRP) is one of the most controversial cryptocurrencies in the digital currency industry. Mainly because it came from nowhere, and has been one of the most volatile large-cap currencies in the industry, with price fluctuations between 6 cents and $3 over the last 16 months. One could observe that it's volume has been just as volatile, and price swings have been largely tied to deals and usage that may or may not come to fruition.

Regardless, Ripple (XRP) is one of the most followed, debated, and valuable digital currencies with a market capitalization above $35 billion. Until Hade Pay launches next week, thereby giving people the ability to use digital currencies for payment, Ripple (XRP), like most cryptocurrencies is primarily a trading instrument. Therefore, I suppose it is warranted to speculate where Ripple (XRP) may go, and offer readers both sides of the fence, bull and bear.

Could Ripple go to $10?

HadePlatform.com published an article earlier this month explaining why Ripple could reach $10 this year. The article was largely based on the tweet prediction of a holding company's CEO.  It should be noted the author's previous writing had discussed the connection of Ripple (XRP) to big companies such as Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT), MoneyGram (NASDAQ:MGI), and Western Union (NYSE:WU).

For full transparency, this connection is a large part of the bullish investment outlook associated with Ripple, the perceived notion that Ripple (XRP) is doing business or will do business with big companies. Ripple (XRP) management previously set a target to be affiliated with at least one bank each week and claims to have more than 100 such affiliates. The currency's issuing company has products like xRapid and xVia which are expected to revolutionize the banking and payments industry, by Ripple (XRP) bulls.

Could XRP go to $0?

Like other digital currency investors,  I am familiar with the positive side of XRP,  and its market capitalization gives the illusion it must be as safe and viable as the likes of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) or at least Litecoin (LTC)

However, I urge everyone to read knifedag's post that explains why everyone should avoid Ripple (XRP) at all costs. The post looks at the coin metrics and business model associated with Ripple (XRP) to make a very compelling argument that Ripple is essentially worthless.

That said, people who invest their money into a project or idea are especially guarded to the idea it may not be the best. Ripple (XRP) could end up being the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization five years from now, or it could be deemed worthless. Regardless, it is controversial for a reason, and anyone thinking of buying should know both sides of the equation. In this article, I gave you two very good references to get a big picture view of this particular cryptocurrency.

If they make a deal with Walmart or Western Union, that will be huge.
